Strictly Fun Dancing 2026: Meet the couples

12 Feb at 4:26 pm
Laura Potter

Meet Strictly Fun Dancing’s 2026 Contestants!

Jurgita and Edvinas

Fun fact: the last time we danced together properly, we didn’t have children, cold coffees, or a calendar full of school runs 😄

We’re Jurgita & Edvinas – husband and wife, parents to three children and somehow convincing ourselves it’s a good idea to step back onto the dance floor after more than ten years.

Dancing is how our story began. Life moved fast, kids arrived, routines took over and dancing became a distant memory.

This year, we decided to bring dancing back – not for applause, but to support a cause that truly matters.

We’re dancing in Strictly Fun Dancing to raise money for Weston Hospicecare, a charity that supports people with life-limiting illnesses and provide care, dignity, and compassion. As a family we are supporting kindness and community matters deeply to us, and we’re proud to stand behind the incredible work they do every day.

Training again has been humbling, emotional, and definitely harder than it was in our twenties – but knowing that every step we take helps raise awareness and funds for Weston Hospicecare makes stretching the stiff legs and late nights worth it.

If our story made you smile or resonated with you, we’d be so grateful for your support.

Fundraising is part of the overall score on the big event, so every donation is a meaningful way to support our journey and the cause we’re dancing for.

Thank you for supporting Weston Hospicecare, and thank you for supporting us – Jurgita & Edvinas

Edwina and Greg

Both “encouraged” by grand daughters to sign up to Weston Hospice Strictly Fun Dancing 2026. One of us responded “definitely not”, the other had another glass of wine and signed us up to this great fundraising event for Weston Hospice.

Both are totally out of our comfort zone, our only previous attempt at dancing being to learn some steps for our wedding dance!

But we are, as we have both received and appreciated the support and care from hospices, up for the challenge and for raising as much money as we can for this crucial service.

Em and Darran

Hi, we’re Emily and Darran, and we’re thrilled to be taking part in Strictly Fun Dancing to raise vital funds for Weston Hospicecare.

As local paramedics, we’ve seen first-hand the incredible compassion, dedication, and support they provide to patients and families in our community when they need it most. Stepping onto the dance floor is definitely pushing us out of our comfort zones, but we love a challenge! We can’t wait to swap our uniforms for dancing shoes, learn some fabulous routines, and hopefully raise lots of money and smiles along the way. Thank you so much for supporting us on this exciting journey!

Helen and Jonathan

Jonathan and Helen are really proud to be supporting such an amazing resource for local people.

Jonathan applied for the opportunity without Helen knowing, hoping that her suggestion of wanting to learn to dance with her husband could be brought to life for a cause. Well here we are.

Jonathan has worked in healthcare for many years and appreciates the support that is needed. Being a Podiatrist he knows you can’t have two left feet, or can you?

Helen teaches at a local primary school and is learning how hard it is to be a pupil again!

They would both like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported them and Weston Hospicecare.

Emma and Gareth

Gareth and Emma have been in a relationship for almost four years now. They met at a festival for all things magical, geeky, and weird. Their strangeness matched, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Both Gareth and Emma have been involved with Strictly Fun Dancing previously but have never regularly practiced or trained.

Following their last involvement in 2023, Emma has gone on to pursue a career that she heavily attributes to the confidence the experience gave her. To celebrate her achievements, and to say thank you to Weston Hospicecare, they are now returning to perform one last time to support this phenomenal cause that continues to help everyone it touches. Sharon and Archie

Sharon and Archie are a mother and son duo taking to the dance floor together this year.

Archie competed in Strictly last year and, much to his own surprise, enjoyed it so much that he persuaded his Mum to join him this time around.

Sharon work as a Finance Manager for Weston and District Community Transport, and Archie works at The Bear Inn.“This cause is very close to our hearts. I have sadly lost two friends who were supported by Weston Hospice, and this is our way of giving back and paying it forward.”
