Weston Hospicecare’s Open Garden initiative has been postponed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The hospice has introduced a Virtual Open Gardens via Facebook in order to allow supporters to keep supporting.
One member of the group has had crockery donated and is offering to fill them with cake.
Home baker Maggi Simons is selling cakes in the donated cups and on the saucers for £2.50 per item with all proceeds being donated to the hospice.
Maggi says “You choose the crockery (from what is available), I’ll provide the cake, and the hospice gets the money.”
Community Fundraising Manager Sue Kingman says “This is exactly the sort of activity we hoped our Virtual Open Gardens page would play host to.
“We can’t hold our Open Gardens, as usual, this year and we are absolutely delighted with how well our Virtual Open Gardens has been received.
“If you are missing the Open Gardens and you are on Facebook, come on over to enjoy the fun.”
In order to support Maggi’s efforts, you need a Facebook profile and must like Weston Hospicecare’s page and join the Virtual Open Gardens group.
