Business duo sign up for hospice’s A MINUTE A MONTH campaign

July 28, 2020
Lauren Easterbrook

Two businesses from Weston-super-Mare have signed up to regularly give to Weston Hospicecare’s A MINUTE A MONTH campaign.

Giulio’s Italian and Teklagraf Ltd are the first businesses to pledge the cost of multiple minutes of care.

It costs £7.64 every minute to support the work of Weston Hospicecare and the A MINUTE A MONTH campaign is designed to help pay for 24 hours of hospice care every month.

That goal would see supporters giving a combined £11,000 each month. So far, the campaign has reached 443 minutes meaning hospice supporters have achieved more than 31% of the monthly target already.

Giulio Italian owners Giulio Ellis and Gemma Zaire have given seven minutes per month and say “Our passion for everything local has drawn us towards supporting Weston Hospicecare, the charity means a lot to our business on a personal level and supporting them is such a reward.

Giulio’s Italian was born from our love of Italian food and the idea of bringing it into the 21st century. A mix of authentic Italian favourites from across the regions combined with a street food kick.

We make sure our customers are treated to homemade culinary delights with our homegrown herbs and handmade pasta. We really couldn’t be any more real if we tried.”

Meanwhile, Teklagraf Ltd has also joined the campaign by pledging to give five minutes per month. TeklaGraf specialises in providing aerospace labels and decals.

Creative Director Ben Whitwell says the company was delighted to be able to support the charity, especially as all the management have experienced the work of Weston Hospicecare.

He said “The entire management team at Teklagraf have had direct-experience of the incredible care Weston Hospicecare provide to residents in Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset and Sedgemoor.

We are delighted to support in a small way by sponsoring 5 minutes a month through the A MINUTE A MONTH campaign.

Knowing that our 5 minutes will help a patient receive much-needed care, or help a Community Nurse visit someone in their home is fantastic for us.

Weston Hospicecare is a vital service for local residents and their families. We encourage any business to support them if they can.”
