National Guardian - Freedom to speak up

Brand new Jammin’ for Weston Hospicecare launched

October 31, 2018
Lauren Easterbrook

Calling all jam, marmalade and chutney makers and those who would like to try their hand at making jams or chutneys to raise money for Weston Hospicecare.

We are launching our Jammin’ for Weston Hospicecare initiative, which will run year-round, to encourage people in the local community with any spare time to make some homemade jams or chutneys for us to sell at our many fayres and sales, afternoon teas, Christmas bazaars and everything in between.

If you’re already a keen jam, chutney or marmalade maker you may have some jars on your pantry shelves which you can spare. If this is something new, then we can help you by supplying the jars, if you supply the jam. We simply need your finished product, we have the empty jars, the labels, pretty decorations for the lids, and plenty of sales opportunities to raise money from your culinary skills.

These chilly autumn days would be an ideal time to start. What better way to fill a rainy afternoon than time spent in your cosy kitchen with a steaming hot cup of tea, play on the radio and a pound or two of fruit or vegetables and then be rewarded with jars of home-made produce.

Please call in at Jackson-Barstow House or telephone 01934 423926 for further details.
