The aches and pains have faded, but the memories have not – and we now have a perfect souvenir for our Mendip Challenge participants in the shape of this fabulous video of the day.
Some 873 people trekked routes of 10, 20 or 30 miles through the West Mendip Way on 3 June to raise money for Weston Hospicecare in the annual challenge.
Blisteringly hot conditions failed to deter the hundreds of walkers from completing their chosen distance, with many walking in memory of loved ones, while others took part to enjoy the challenge or to support the cause.
As our video shows, the day was a huge success – and although sponsorship money is still being received, the hope is that the total raised could exceed the 2017 total of £56,056.
