DESCRIPTION:Registrations for the Mendip Challenge 2026 are now closed\nA limited number of spaces will be available on the day on a first come first served basis.\nFor Mendip Challenge Participant Information\, please click here. \nProudly sponsored by Howards Motor Group the Mendip Challenge 2026 is a fun and rewarding fundraising event for anyone looking to push themselves\, enjoy the great outdoors\, and more importantly raise vital funds for Weston Hospicecare. \nChoose from four routes — 30 miles\, 20 miles\, 10 miles\, or 5 miles — making the challenge perfect for individuals\, teams\, families (and dogs!). The route follows the stunning West Mendip Way winding through the rolling Somerset hills. \nJoin hundreds of fellow participants as you take on the Mendip Hills\, finishing at Weston Cricket Club\, where you can celebrate your incredible achievement. \nRoute Options:\n30 Mile Route \nThe 30 mile route is the most demanding challenge. Starting in Wells\, walkers ascend into the Mendips at Priddy before continuing on to Draycott. From there\, the route heads towards the top of the spectacular Cheddar Gorge\, before crossing the Mendips from Tynings Farm to Crooks Peak. The journey continues past Crooks Peak with a steep descent into Loxton. The final stage takes walkers along Roman Road\, followed by a scenic loop around Uphill\, passing the hospice\, before finishing at Weston Cricket Club. \n20 Mile Route \nPerfect for those seeking a serious challenge without committing to the full 30 miles\, the 20 mile route follows approximately two-thirds of the longer course. Starting in Cheddar\, walkers climb to the top of Cheddar Gorge before enjoying the stunning scenery between Tynings Farm and Crooks Peak. The final stretch mirrors the 30 mile route\, heading along Roman Road\, looping around Uphill\, passing the hospice\, and finishing at Weston Cricket Club. \n10 Mile Route \nStarting and finishing at Weston Cricket Club\, the 10 mile route is ideal for those who want a rewarding challenge without the longer distances. The route heads towards Bleadon before joining the final section of both the 20 and 30 mile routes\, offering some spectacular views of the Mendip Challenge experience. \n5 Mile Route \nThe 5 mile route is perfect for families and beginners. Beginning at Weston Cricket Club\, it follows the purpose-built pathway between Uphill and Brean\, taking in the fantastic viewpoint at St Nicholas’ Church along the way. \nWhat’s Included:\n\nEntry to the walk or your choice (5\, 10\, 20 or 30 miles)\nBack walkers\, support vehicles\, marshals and first aid cover\nFinisher medal and ribbon\nHowards branded water bottle\nMedals for any dog participants\nCoach transport from Weston Cricket Club for the 20 and 30 mile participants to their starting point in Draycott/Wells\n\nHow To Register:\nSimply click the ‘Sign Up Here’ button and select your chosen route distance to enter all your participant details.
