National Guardian - Freedom to speak up

Can you help support you local hospice with the Bubble Rush?

June 29, 2017
Lauren Easterbrook

With just under six weeks left to go until Burnham’s first-ever Bubble Rush, which is set to take place in Apex Park on Saturday, 5th August, Weston Hospicecare is inviting more local businesses to consider supporting the event.

The Bubble Rush is a fun 5K run, walk, toddle or stroll through four different coloured Bubble Stations. The family-friendly course is open to participants of all ages and abilities, and it is a particularly great event for those who want to take part in a fun, non-timed sports event or for those with sensory needs.

While some companies have chosen to support the Bubble Rush by attending or making a donation, others have chosen to sponsor one of the colourful Bubble Stations.

‘We have a variety of sponsorship opportunities available for local businesses who want to make this a brilliant event in Burnham while promoting the good work their company does in the local community,’ said Kelsey Dehaney, Weston Hospicecare’s event fundraiser.

Two area businesses, BWOC and AP Signs & Print, have already signed up to sponsor a Bubble Station on the day, but there are two spots left for any companies who might like to sponsor the blue or yellow Bubble Stations, in addition to other smaller sponsorship opportunities.

The hospice, which provides services to people affected by life-limiting illnesses in and around the Somerset/North Somerset area (including Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge), is keen to link up with local businesses to showcase the wonderful community.

‘We are really pleased to have the sponsors like BWOC and AP Signs & Print on board and to have the support of local businesses like the Sweet Shack, Lizzie’s Kitchen, DiMascio’s Ice Cream Van and Action Pussycat, who will all be there on the day to help make the event a success,’ said Kelsey. ‘With everything planned, the day is sure to draw a crowd and engage lots of people.’

If your organisation would like to sponsor the Bubble Rush in some way, please contact Kelsey.dehaney@westonhospicecare.org.uk or call on 01934 423967.

For those who would like to take part in the event, you can still register online up until 30 July. Places for the Bubble Rush are limited, so those interested are encouraged to sign up quickly!
