  • Hours: 21-32 hours per week on a shift/rota basis
    Salary: Starting salary £14,625 – £15,313 pa pro rata (dependent on experience)

    Weston Hospicecare provides care for local people who are living with a life limiting illnesses. We are currently looking for a Nursing Auxiliary to complement the current team of highly skilled nurses and nursing auxiliaries. This role will be based in our 10 bedded In-Patient Unit with the opportunity to work in the community team and our Day Hospice.

    The post will be a permanent position working a variety of shifts to cover a 24-hour period, and you will be expected to work night duty, weekends and Bank Holidays. We are interested in hearing from anyone wishing to work between 21 and 32 hours per week.

    Ideally, you will have had experience working with patients within palliative care or Oncology; however, if you consider yourself able to deliver high-quality patient care, had recent acute care experience and have a keen interest in palliative care, we would like to hear from you.

    Appointment to this post is subject to an Enhanced DBS certificate.

  • Location: Weston-super-Mare
    Salary: £17,550 pa (pro rata for part-time)
    Hours: 22.5 per week (preferably Wednesday – Friday)

    Are you a highly motivated, digitally savvy individual looking for a great challenge?

    We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive part-time Assistant Communications Officer to play a key role in raising awareness of Weston Hospicecare’s work and the excellent care that we provide to people facing a life-limiting illness in our community.

    Working alongside our part-time Communications Officer, you will support our hospice and its vibrant fundraising and retail operations by delivering press releases, writing blogs and social media posts, and providing input into other promotional materials and events that build awareness of Weston Hospicecare’s services.

    You must have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. Ideally, you will have some knowledge of basic design software for social media purposes. Combining creativity with good planning skills, you will be a strong team player with a flexible approach, a clear writing style and an exceptional eye for detail.

  • Location: Cheddar
    Salary: £16,321 per annum (£8.37 per hour)
    Hours: 37.5 per week including alternate Saturdays

    We have an exciting opportunity for a manager to run our shop in the centre of Cheddar.

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who will lead the shop team of volunteers – giving our customers and donors excellent service, and raising money to help run the hospice.

    The role has a strong focus on maximising income to support the hospice. Duties will include accepting and pricing donated goods, Gift Aid registration, managing the shop team, creating strong merchandising displays within the shop, running activities to help attract customers, and maintaining great standards to give our customers a great shopping experience.

    This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys retail and working in a lively, fast-paced environment. You will need to have enthusiasm, leadership and motivational skills, be customer orientated and target focused, and enjoy working with a diverse range of products and people.

  • Hours: 30 per week over 4 days, including alternate Saturdays
    Salary: £15,015 per annum (pro rata for part-time)
    Location: Weston-super-Mare

    This newly created role will work alongside a team of Assistant Managers supporting the Hub Manager in the running of our Business Hub. Your main responsibility will be managing the sorting, storage and preparation of stock for distribution to our chain of charity shops.

    You will also work with and manage a team of volunteers maintaining excellent relationships with our shop, online trading and distribution/logistics staff.

    You will need to have a good standard of literacy and numeracy and experience in working to and achieving targets. You will need a good knowledge of customer service, be PC literate and be able to complete administrative paperwork.

  • Hours: 37.5 per week
    Salary: £7.50 per hour

    We are looking for two van drivers to join our existing team who are enthusiastic, flexible, friendly and personable. You will collect and deliver goods (including furniture) from our shops, warehouse and customers’ homes. The role will involve driving a light commercial vehicle and lifting reasonably heavy loads, and therefore you will need to have a driving licence.

    The hours will be worked over 5 days (8.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m.) including alternate Saturdays.

    Due to the continued success of our network of charity shops, we are looking for additional bank van drivers who are enthusiastic, flexible, friendly and personable. You will collect and deliver goods (including furniture) from our shops, warehouse and customers’ homes.  The role will involve driving a light commercial vehicle and lifting reasonably heavy loads, and therefore you will need to have a driving licence.
     
    This role has a need for high levels of flexibility, as you may be asked to cover in the event of holidays or sickness at very short notice.

    Would you like to join our team of casual/bank housekeeping team, working in a friendly and modern environment? As a Casual/Bank Housekeeping Assistant, you will provide cover for staff holidays and sickness, sometimes at short notice. The hours may include morning, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
     
    We are looking for enthusiastic and committed people who can offer flexibility in working hours, to clean our patient, therapy and office areas, and to assist with the in-house laundry.
     
    Weston Hospicecare provides care for local people who are living with a life limiting illness, so experience in a healthcare environment may be helpful.
     
    Full training will be provided.

  • Hours: Variable
    Salary: £7.50 per hour
     
    As a Casual/Bank Catering Assistant, you will provide cover for staff holidays and sickness, sometimes at short notice. The hours may include early mornings, days, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
     
    We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can offer flexibility in working hours to assist in the preparation and delivery of high quality and nutritious meals.
     
    You must have experience in catering with a good understanding of nutritional needs and excellent food presentation skills. You will have a cooking/catering qualification or equivalent experience as well as a current food hygiene certificate. You must have a friendly and flexible manner and be an effective communicator at all levels.
